The Previant Law Firm, S.C. was founded in 1912 by Attorney Joseph Padway, a true pioneer in labor law. He acted as general counsel of the American Federation of Labor and played a significant role in the development of many Wisconsin labor laws still on the books today. The breadth of our labor law practice is well known and recognized in the communities we serve.
Over the decades, we have participated in federal and state appellate court proceedings, winning numerous victories for union members in the United States Supreme Court.
The Previant Law Firm, S.C draws its name from past partner and labor Attorney David Previant. For many years he was head of the American Bar Association’s labor section. He was a top adviser to the International Brotherhood of Teamsters (IBT) for more than three decades. Mr. Previant was often at the side of James R. Hoffa, president of the IBT.
Currently, our team of lawyers represent many of the largest labor unions in Wisconsin and throughout the Midwest. Many of our attorneys have been named to the Super Lawyers list.
