Industrial Unions
Industrial labor unions are responsible for representing employees in a wide range of settings, and The Previant Law Firm, S.C. has equally vast experience in representing unions and their members in all of those settings. We have experience in advising unions on organizing, including in representation proceedings before the National Labor Relations Board and in concerted activity (such as strikes and picketing). We have advised unions on voluntary recognition agreements and in card check agreements. International Brotherhood of Teamsters
The Previant Law Firm, S.C. has a historic relationship with the International Brotherhood of Teamsters. The firm is named after David Previant, who was counsel to James R. Hoffa and became general counsel to the Teamsters for more than 30 years.
During its long affiliation with the Teamsters, we have represented the Teamsters in nearly every kind of forum. We have guided Teamster leaders in collective bargaining, grievances, contract disputes, and internal union matters. We have represented Teamsters in arbitration, before the National Labor Relations Board, and before other state and federal agencies. We have litigated on behalf of Teamsters in state and federal courts, including appellate courts and the U.S. Supreme Court.

Building and Construction Trades
Our firm has a long history of representing unions in the building and construction trades. We have vast experience in dealing with issues particular to the construction industry, including issues relating to agreements under §8(f) of the National Labor Relations Act, project labor agreements, issues relating to apprenticeships and journeymen, bannering and area standards picketing, and virtually every other issue facing the skilled trades. We have assisted unions in a wide variety of collective bargaining negotiations, in labor arbitrations, defending injunctions, and in other litigation.
